Oil and Gas Royalty Auditor Job Description
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Plans, organizes, conducts and analyzes a variety of complex and industry specific revenue audit projects.
- Establish the objective and scope of the audit engagement.
- Compiles and prepares comprehensive audit reports presenting details of audit findings, outlining areas of concern and recommending courses of action for resolution of items in dispute.
- Work with the audit team and the client to generate value-added recommendations.
- Present concerns, issues, and updates with the audit client and Internal Audit Management.
- Prepare field memorandums and draft audit reports, including executive summaries.
- Provide assurance and consulting activities on revenue forecasts and other revenue analysis.
- Assist with implementing audit tools to improve audit efficiencies.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Skills & Abilities:
- Self-motivated with ability to work independently and balance workload to complete multiple assignments within time constraints.
- Ability to apply analytical and interpretive skills to problem solving, strong attention to detail, and organizational skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral.
- Proficient with standard concepts, procedures, protocols, and methodologies within the oil and gas audit field.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration or experience as a Petroleum Landman.
- Three (3) years of experience in auditing or related work, preferably in oil and gas auditing.
- Must be able to communicate and comprehend accurately, clearly and concisely in English at a level required to perform the job as outlined.
- In addition to professional skill as an auditor, knowledge of Company policies, procedures and organization is desirable. Must possess good work habits, a strong work ethic, and be able to adhere to company work hours, policies, and standard business etiquette.
